The Price Hill Financial Opportunity Center (formally the Center for Financial Stability) was originally developed out of a network of neighborhood service agencies that were working to promote self-sufficiency through employment. The Price Hill FOC brings together a continuum of services that focus on the key areas of workforce development, work supports, and financial literacy. A multi-agency collaborative, the Price Hill FOC is part of a regional effort designed to empower families and individuals to become self-sufficient and confident household money-managers while optimizing their resources.
Whether residents are new to the neighborhood or can trace their ties to Price Hill back several generations, access to affordable housing, quality education, transportation, job opportunities, and a supportive community are all paramount to family stabilization and self-sufficiency. The Price Hill Financial Opportunity Center provides access and awareness of these basic tenets of financial stability, while able to tap into the community development opportunities and transformational projects that have been gaining traction in the neighborhood. With its plentiful and affordable housing stock, access to Downtown Cincinnati, and neighborhood amenities, the opportunity to promote, establish, and support family stability is evident in Price Hill – “The Hill is Alive!”
The Price Hill FOC is a formalized and strategic multi-agency collaborative which as a foundation, augments the established community-based crisis mitigation and family stabilization programs of Santa Maria Community Services with the recognized best practice job readiness/job placement model established by Cincinnati Works and the community engagement, redevelopment, and revitalization efforts of Price Hill Will. Skilled employees from each organization will be co-located in the same physical space to provide seamless service delivery to the client. Embracing a “client first” mentality, the Price Hill FOC also actively refers clients to other neighborhood service agencies and is open to other agencies that wish to formally participate in the collaborative.
