Community participation leads to many neighborhood benefits. Even the physical condition of building stock can be linked to the willingness of a neighbor to get involved in helping his or her block reach its potential.
PHW maintains a deep commitment to community engagement/community outreach because anything we do to physically revitalize the neighborhood cannot be sustained without a broad mix of neighbors, businesses and institutions working together to create and maintain a vibrant civic and social community.
What we focus on tends to determine the direction we move. So by placing attention and energy on the things that are wanted for the community, volunteers are creating more momentum for what's working as opposed to reacting to what's broken.
At the core of every community engagement initiative is an aspect of Price Hill that residents would like to build upon and promote. Festivals are organized to highlight the diversity of its population. Youth art programs use its architecture and green space as subject matter. Beautification awards are given to its residents who show pride for their homes and so on.
