Colton Foster

Coltan Foster is a musician, teacher and arts administrator. He graduated from Western Washington University in 2013 with a BM in Bassoon Performance, studying with Francine Peterson. From 2013 to 2016, Coltan worked as the coordinator of the Marrowstone Music Festival, a program of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. He served as Principal Bassoon of the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra in Bellingham, Washington for 3 seasons. In 2018, he earned a Masters of Music from the University of Akron, studying with Cynthia Cioffari. He currently holds the Second Bassoon chair in the Akron Symphony Orchestra, and is in pursuit of an Artist Diploma at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying with Williams Winstead.

In his free time, Coltan enjoys chilling, making vegetarian food and watching Star Trek, the Next Generation.
