Walk Warsaw will increase walkability and moderate vehicular traffic within East Price Hill’s Warsaw Avenue Neighborhood Business District through the implementation of crosswalk murals. In Spring 2021, Price Hill Will solicited designs for crosswalk murals at the intersection of St. Lawrence, Warsaw, and Enright Avenues. After several rounds of submissions, iterations, and working diligently with the City of Cincinnati’s Department of Transportation and Engineering, a selection committee composed of residents and local artists chose the design submitted by Cincinnati artist, Marin Emmanuel. The murals will be painted within crosswalk boundaries and create a sense of safety to pedestrians while also beautifying the commercial corridor. The goal of painting colorful, yet composed murals is to slow passing vehicles. Creating safer pedestrian and vehicular environments will give businesses the potential to thrive in the neighborhood. The crosswalks will be executed following the planned construction on Warsaw Avenue in 2022.
