MYCincinnati Brass Teaching Artist
Jett Walker is a professional trombonist and music educator currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jett is originally from San Antonio, Texas, and served as a public-school band director for five years before moving to Cincinnati to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). His research is largely focused on two areas: the inner workings of successful applied lesson instruction, and the cultivating of fundamental musicianship skills through chamber music.
In addition to his studies at CCM, Jett is also an active performer. He is primarily an orchestral musician and has performed with groups such as the Battle Creek Symphony, Kentucky Symphony, and Brazos Valley Symphony. However, Jett also enjoys jazz/pop/commercial music and has consistently performed with groups in both Texas and Ohio, including The Cincy Brass, The “230” Big Band, The Seven Dutchmen Orchestra, Joe Rogers Big Band, and the Olmos Basin Brass Quintet.
Jett also enjoys watching sports (Go Spurs Go!) and traveling with his wife.
