Cincinnati-based cellist Laura Jekel is committed to building and empowering the community through music. Her work at Price Hill Will explores the overlap of the arts with housing, economic development, and community engagement. She is the founder of MYCincinnati and was the director of the program from 2011 until 2015. She currently works as a Teaching Artist and administrator for MYCincinnati and is the director of the Price Hillharmonic. Previously, Laura has performed and taught throughout Latin America and the United States, including performing as soloist with orchestras in Ecuador. She has degrees in cello performance from Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, and Carnegie Mellon University.

In her free time, Laura enjoys cooking, quilting, and spending time with her two grey cats Iolanta and Elektra. She also rehearses and performs frequently with her friend, and neighbor, Jordana Greenberg as part of the Price Hill Duo,
