Isaac Selya

At MYCincinnati, Isaac teaches cello and conducts ensembles. Outside of MYC, Isaac is the founder and Artistic Director of Queen City Opera, where he has led acclaimed performances that combine high-caliber opera with contemporary issues. He also serves as the Music Director of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. As a guest conductor, he has led the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in Germany, the Xiamen Philharmonic in China, and the National Symphony of Guatemala. Isaac’s work can also be heard on the soundtrack to the award-winning video game, Masquerada: Songs and Shadows. He holds a BA from Yale College, an MM from Mannes College, and a doctorate from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. He has three cats, named Tosca, Aida, and Tamino.
